Role Overview

NexGen’s Commercial team is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a Manager, Commercial role. This is a unique opportunity to join a team that is focused on supporting the advancement of the Rook I project, a Tier-1 uranium project, as it transitions to the next stage of its development.

This role is pivotal in supporting our commercial function while emphasizing strong written and verbal communication skills in project management and corporate development activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for leveraging analytical and communication skills to drive strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing complex information with effective communication skills to influence decision-making and drive business growth.

Position Responsibilities

(Including but not limited to)
  • Conduct analysis of various corporate development and project development initiatives
  • Develop and deliver high-impact presentations and communication materials, leveraging strong PowerPoint skills to effectively convey complex technical and commercial concepts.
  • Manage and maintain Datarooms.
  • Perform financial modelling to support business development functions, including routine corporate, external diligence and other ad-hoc circumstances.
  • Develop and implement communication plans that align with corporate objectives and values for external and internal audiences.
  • Assist in the analysis and evaluation of transactions and business opportunities, providing valuable insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and data for presentations and communication plans.
  • Establish clear objectives and key messages for each communication initiative.
  • Tailor presentations to various audiences, ensuring content is clear, relevant, and impactful.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical and commercial information in a manner that is understandable and engaging.
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve presentation content and delivery.
  • Drive project timelines and deliverables, ensuring clear communication channels and proactive management of resources to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the commercial team, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions and technologies that contribute to operational excellence and competitive advantage.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and professional development among team members to foster a learning organization.
  • Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with corporate goals.
  • Support business development activities, including identifying new business opportunities, partnerships, and potential acquisitions.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • A university degree in Engineering or Business administration; a professional designation of CFA, CPA or MBA would be viewed favorably.
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a consulting firm or related industry, with a demonstrated track record of managing complex projects and delivering impactful communications.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to create visually compelling presentations that effectively communicate technical and commercial information.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to tailor messaging to different stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving and project management.
  • Proven track record as a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
