Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in and supervise geological work including core logging, sample collection, and QA/QC to ensure exploration best practices.
- Engage with contractors to ensure best practices are implemented and health and safety programs are followed.
- Interpret and report geological data, develop geological models, and work with the Exploration Team to advance project understanding.
- Contribute to exploration program planning with emphasis on identification of opportunities and efficiencies towards exploration objectives.
- Coordinate detailed logistics of drill programs to ensure drill holes are prioritized to produce expected results and activities are managed in a cost-effective manner.
- Establish drill hole locations and effectively test targets as directed.
- Complete required weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Complete fieldwork to ensure drill programs are conducted to high standards with an emphasis on health and safety.
- Effectively communicate opportunities
- Other duties as assigned.
LOCATION
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology is required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in mineral exploration.
- Strong understanding of geological software and databases (Leapfrog, ArcGIS, Geosoft, acQuire).
- Fluent computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications, (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in working with a broad range of people.
- Experience in working field rotations to support drill programs in remote locations.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and demonstrated safety leadership.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
